How to create anew?

Common Ground Practice

The tablecloth is the outcome of How to create anew? a series of workshops we organized at De Voorkamer. During the workshops we aimed to explore alternative ways
of defining home environments. Participants engaged in discussions on guest-host dynamics, gender relations, and domestic hierarchies. Using the lino technique on a shared fabric, they presented, re-imagined, or redesigned their living conditions. Over the final sessions they reflected on the stories and used embroidery to connect them. Working collectively emphasized the creative strength of communities and highlighted the importance of addressing such themes together.

The resulting fabric, now a tablecloth, serves as a tangible representation of the community’s shared stories. It has been displayed at De Voorkamer encouraging ongoing interaction and discussion among community members.
