Relationship of Care

Guest-Host

Lecture Series
MA Interior Architecture, Royal Acaddemy of Art, The Hague

Together with Malte Sonnenschein, during our time at the MA Interior Architecture as Teacher Assistant, we organized lectures to create a first connection between the students and the professional field. The lecture series focuses on the relationships of care between guests and hosts in various contexts. As interior architects, we design spaces to accommodate visitors, guests, and users while operating within the existing framework of the built environment. In this sense, we simultaneously become hosts and guests, being hosted by the socio-cultural, spatial, and historical context of our chosen locations. The lecture series explores the ambiguous roles of caregiving and receiving from four different perspectives, featuring twelve lecturers throughout the year.
